Ice Fishing
Out on the lake, twelve holes have been drilled through the ice. Under some of them a fish is nosing about; under others there's only cold water. Pick three, lower your lines, and lift them together.
The game
Purse: 0 coins
Three casts cost 20 coins. Casts left: 0
Buy your casts, then choose three holes.
How to play
- Press Buy three casts. Twenty coins come out of your purse and the catch is shuffled under the ice.
- Tap or click three different holes. You can't change a hole once chosen.
- After your third cast all the lines come up at once. You keep the coin value of everything on your three hooks, and you can see what was under the holes you passed over.
Fish names in Norwegian: laks is salmon, ørret is trout, abbor is perch and sild is herring.
How it pays
| Catch | Value | Holes |
|---|---|---|
| Salmon Laks | 25 coins | 1 |
| Trout Ørret | 10 coins | 2 |
| Perch Abbor | 5 coins | 3 |
| Herring Sild | 2 coins | 2 |
| Nothing | 0 coins | 4 |
| Total caught | Chance |
|---|---|
| Nothing at all | 4 in 220 (1.8%) |
| 1 to 19 coins | 146 in 220 (66.4%) |
| Exactly 20 stake back, not a win | 10 in 220 (4.5%) |
| More than 20 coins | 60 in 220 (27.3%) |
Because the catch is shuffled fresh each round and you can't see through the ice, every hole is as good as any other. On average three casts bring up 16.0 coins, a little less than the 20 they cost.
Coins on Norske Spill are virtual. They have no cash value, cannot be bought or cashed out, and this game is for adults aged 18 and over. When a round hands back exactly what it cost, that is your stake returned, not a win.
