Rune Stones
Runes are the old letters of the North, cut into wood and stone long before ink and paper. Nine carved stones lie face down in the snow. Turn them over and try to find three that match before the frost gets to you.
The game
Purse: 0 coins
Each round costs 25 coins.
Lay out the stones, then turn them one at a time.
How to play
- Press Lay out the stones. Twenty-five coins leave your purse and the nine stones are shuffled face down.
- Turn stones one at a time, in any order you like.
- The first time you have three of the same rune face up, the round ends and that rune pays.
- If you turn a frost stone before that, the round ends with nothing back. Either way, the rest of the stones are then shown.
The runes: Sól is the sun rune, and Elg takes its name from the Norwegian word for elk, whose antlers it resembles.
How it pays
| How the round ends | Coins back | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Three Sól first | 75 | 37 in 210 (17.6%) |
| Three Elg first | 150 | 9 in 140 (6.4%) |
| A frost stone first | 0 | 319 in 420 (76.0%) |
The order you turn the stones in makes no difference: they are shuffled out of sight, so every one of the 1,260 possible layouts is equally likely. Over many rounds a round returns about 22.9 coins for the 25 it costs.
Coins on Norske Spill are virtual. They have no cash value, cannot be bought or cashed out, and this game is for adults aged 18 and over. When a round hands back exactly what it cost, that is your stake returned, not a win.
